Hanging Lake, Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Hanging Lake is located in Glenwood Canyon 7 miles east of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This local attraction was recently awarded the title of “National Natural Landmark” and for good reason… After a 1.5 mile moderately strenuous hike, visitors will find a mountain oasis. The lake is perched 1500 feet above the canyon floor and filled with crystal blue water. Waterfalls pour into the lake from above and trout meander in the cool Colorado water. There are benches and a walkway for visitors to admire the breathtaking spectacle.
Swim and Soak at Glenwood Hot Springs
Glenwood Hot Springs is the attraction that put Glenwood Springs, Colorado on the map. The natural spring erupts from deep beneath Glenwood Canyon and provides visitors a world class hot springs experience. There are two large pools, a therapy pool which soothes muscles tired from hiking, skiing or biking at 104 degrees and a much larger pool that includes diving boards and two slides that twist and turn which is kept between 92 and 96 degrees. This is the perfect place to spend a day with your spouse and family.
Play at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is a treasure sitting high above Glenwood Springs, Colorado atop Iron Mountain. The park is accessed with the Iron Mountain Tramway which is a European pulse gondola. Once visitors reach the top there are many things to see and do. Visitors may choose to tour the world famous Fairy Caves, ride an alpine coaster, play laser tag, watch a 4D movie or ride the highest (in elevation) roller coaster in the country. There is a restaurant and gift shop at the top of the mountain and the park also plays host to numerous events.
Ski and Snowboard at Aspen/Snowmass or Sunlight Mountain
Glenwood Springs, Colorado is the perfect launching point for a day on the slopes. Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk Mountain are just 45 minutes south of Glenwood Springs.
